El Monte City School District (EMCSD) nutrition services received a $200,000 grant from the California Department of Food and Agriculture, CA Farm to School Incubator Grant Program. Since Southern California’s first school was constructed here in 1852, El Monte has honored the education of its children and has grown into a thriving community of fourteen schools, which incudes five California Distinguished Schools and six ERP Honor Roll Schools, all dedicated to preparing our students for the challenge of a 21st century education.
