Resources
This website is designed to be a resource for parents, teachers and students.
It includes a link section with many excellent websites related to gifted education.

Teachers
You will find a section on Differentiation which will give you training on many techniques to modify curriculum for your gifted learners. Some of the topics covered are: Cubing, Thinking Dots, Choice Menus, Curriculum Compacting, Content Imperatives, Depth and Complexity and Vocabulary Development. There is a section on art instruction with Power Point presentations for your classroom use.

GATE Referral: Check out the new EZ Referral section and the new GATE Qualification Scores sections.

Parents
Check out our Parent Corner. We have many opportunities for Parent Involvement and Education. You will find the schedule for our 2008-09 GATE Parent Meetings at this site. These meetings educate parents on topics related to gifted children and keep them current on what programs are being offered. We also seek parent input and change our program offerings to reflect the needs and interests of our parents.

Check out our Social and Emotional Needs of the Gifted section. There are articles on bullying, myths about gifted, intensity and sensitivity, traits and possible problems.

Students
New! We are beginning Saturday Student Discussion Seminars in January of 2009.  See the schedule for dates and topics. Class size is limited to 20 students. Kids will get a chance to learn more about what it means to be gifted. You will have a chance to discuss with each other your experiences and feelings. Some topics we will be discussing: Traits of gifted and labels, fitting in v. individuality, self-talk, using visualization, managing stress, peer pressure, bullying, friendships, conflicts and communication, goal setting, intensity and perfectionism.
